American artist Susan Lordi has worked in partnership with DEMDACO since 1999 to produce, market, and distribute her line of carved figurative sculpture, Willow Tree. From her studio in Kansas City, Lordi hand carves the original of each figure. This particular piece is cast from Lordi's original and painted by hand.

Keepsake Boxes are small, sweet places to keep treasures. The hand-painted bas-relief lids are not attached, allowing for the bottom of each box to reveal a hidden message of love and friendship as a discovery. Willow Tree is a reminder of someone we want to keep close or a memory we want to touch. The hand-carved figures express themselves through body gestures alone - a tilt of the head, the placement of the hands, a turn of the body.

Enclosed inside the fitted packaging box is a gift-giving card with the piece's title and sentiment. Each Willow Tree piece is intended to be open to interpretation from the viewer, as "Willow Tree isn't so much about the tangible piece. It represents an emotion or it marks a memory," according to Susan Lordi.

This 3-inch square by 2-inch high hand-painted resin box features a bas-relief carving of two seated figures in cream dresses, facing each other, on the lid (not attached). Inside, the bottom of the box reveals the message "Forever true, forever friends" as a hidden discovery.

The Friendship Keepsake Box is ready to display on a shelf, table, or mantel. To clean, dust with a soft brush or cloth. Avoid water or cleaning solvents.
